Let Go of the Need to be Happy: Psychic Healing

I see many people, who in short are looking for their happiness.  Many believe it will occur through a relationship, wealth, health etc.  They see themselves clearly in front a crowd taking a bow, in front of the fireplace enjoying their new mansion, walking arm and arm with their partner along an exotic beach front.

In fairy tales the Prince and Princess go off and live happily ever after.  There is nothing more to the story.  We watch them walk into their misty future and out of the story line into their Happy Ending. As if, that’s it.. they are done.  They are Happy.  They live Happy. Die Happy.

The Happy Ending

Many people I have seen are looking for their Happy Ending.  They don’t call it that, but that’s what it is.  It may be in the form of a relationship, acquisition of wealth or increased health.  As if when they achieve that, whatever it is, then they will be happy living happily ever after.

My friends, there is no Happy Ending.  Happy endings move your awareness into an imaginary future. And as my Mother would say,” It’s always something.” There is always something that can compel you into unrest.

The Need to be Happy is Based in the Future

I have had this discussion with several friends and many times they tell me they hope for something, acquire it and then set their sites on something else and the cycle repeats.  They tell me what feels good is looking forward to something not the actual getting.  But regardless, hope moves your awareness into the future and not the now.. where peace and satisfaction live.

Consider that just like a fairy tale character you may have been dreaming about your happy ending.  A change of circumstances or situation that would fix everything.  Consider, that what you have been unable to accomplish you may have been holding that once accomplished would be your happy ending.  When you give up that changing your circumstance will finally make your happy you are left more spacious, more roomy, more available.
