So many folks refuse to embrace their own spiritual authority. They would rather relish their power and follow others.. even people in the New Age movement. They have left institutionalized religion to embrace meditation, yoga and God in everything.. but still the old habit of giving away power remains.
For example, I was having a conversation the other day about the importance of being present in the NOW.
I was told to not start anything new. I should hold off until Mercury was out of retrograde.
I responded back: “Is there ever a time where it is not appropriate to be in the NOW?”
Again, the response was the same: “Hold off doing anything new until Mercury was out of retrograde”
This is, to to me, a prime example of spiritual superstition overriding common sense. I have seen it over and over again: people embrace the “New Age” in an attempt to leave behind dogma of institutional religion, but they still cling to rules and the opinions of others without feeling through the options in front of them.
These folks have given away their power in an attempt to improve their lives.. listening to psychics, astrologers and the like instead of accessing their own inner wisdom. Instead of feeling into truth, they have the echoes of books they have read and speakers they have heard in the forefront of their minds. They relinquish their authority, for the promise of a better life.
Are you feeling into the options in front of you for the truth? Its as simple as taking a moment, quieting your mind, getting still and feeling into whether something feels true or not. Your body will tell you what is so by giving you signals. The truth to me feels right, stable and calm. When something is not true for me my body feels unsettled, nervous.
Now, take back your authority. Get quite and feel into what is right for you. “Is there ever a time, to not be in the NOW?”
