How to Survive Kundalini

Everyone Wants Kundalini Until It Happens

A lot of people try to raise Kundalini through yoga, meditation, fasting, breathwork, psychedelics, and hardcore spiritual practice.

They want awakening.
Healing.
Psychic abilities.
Union with the Universe.
The upgrade.

And sometimes they get it.

Then they call me terrified.

Shaky. Fried. Unable to sleep. Pressure in the head. Buzzing in the body. Random terror. Crying spells. Feeling like they are losing their mind.

A lot of people are trying to awaken without realizing Kundalini can hit the nervous system like a truck if the body is not prepared to hold it.

What Most People Get Wrong About Spiritual Awakening

What most people do not understand is that there is no real spiritual ascension.

There is only deeper embodiment.

Deeper grounding.
Deeper presence.
Deeper contact with reality, the body, emotions, and truth.

A lot of people are chasing ascension because they want to escape themselves. They want to open their third eye, open their crown, transcend pain, transcend fear, transcend being human.

And opening spiritually is not bad.

But when it happens too fast, the system destabilizes.

And the tricky part is this:

You usually do not know your system is unprepared until it happens.

Too Much Energy Through Too Small a System

Kundalini is life force.

And when too much energy moves through a system that is not ready, it can feel like trying to run 100 watts through a 20 watt system.

Things start short-circuiting.

People become hypersensitive. Emotionally flooded. Unable to ground. Unable to stop the energy. Unable to calm down.

And when Kundalini is not moving properly through the pathways designed to hold it, it can almost behave like a pathogen in the system, flooding and destabilizing someone physically, emotionally, energetically, and psychologically.

And one of the biggest mistakes people make is pushing harder.

More yoga.
More meditation.
More fasting.
More breathwork.

Terrible idea.

If your nervous system is overloaded, forcing more energy through it is usually the opposite of what needs to happen.

When Kundalini Destabilizes the Nervous System

If you are in the middle of a Kundalini awakening, stop everything.

Do not add new practices.
Do not force more energy.
Do not keep trying to “push through.”

Stop.

Get in nature.
Get near deep water.
Ground.
Calm your nervous system.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing a person can do is stop trying to ascend and learn how to be back in their body again.

And find someone who actually understands Kundalini from lived experience, not just philosophy.

Kundalini Clears Out Who You Thought You Were

In my experience, Kundalini does not just awaken energy.

It clears out who we thought we were.

Attachments.
Identities.
Ways of coping.
Ways of controlling.
Ways of surviving.

And a lot of the time, people do not even realize how attached they are to those parts of themselves until Kundalini starts tearing through the system.

That is why Kundalini can feel both liberating and terrifying at the same time.

Part of you is trying to evolve.

Another part is trying to hold on.

And that internal conflict can overwhelm the nervous system, body, emotions, and energetic field very quickly.

That is also why support matters.

Because this process is not just energetic. It is emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual all at once.
