Being Spiritual is Overrated!

Try Being Spirited Instead
Recently, I attended the Northwest Naraya, a Native American Spirit Dance.

And a modern wizard named Charles offered a distinction I can’t shake:

Spiritual vs. Spirited.

And I’ll be honest: I’m over “spiritual people.”

Not the seekers. Not the brave ones deep in their process.
I’m talking about the ones who use spirituality to avoid themselves — the kind who slip into spiritual bypassing and call it healing.

You know the type:
💜 Constantly quoting teachers
💜 Always reading the next “lightworker” book
💜 Avoiding pain but calling it “high vibration”

They attend retreats, post affirmations, and drop money on courses — but they’re not changing.
They’re coping through performance, not healing at the root.

What Is Spiritual Bypassing?

It’s when someone avoids the hard stuff — their grief, shame, anger — by dressing it up in sacred language.

They talk about ascension, but can’t feel their body.
They speak of healing, but won’t touch their trauma.
They wear “spiritual” like a costume — another identity to protect the old pain.

And that’s where real spiritual healing begins:
When you let go of who you’ve been pretending to be and connect to the self you didn’t even know you were carrying.

What Real Spirituality Actually Is

It’s not about being better. It’s about being true.

It’s not about what you wear or say.
It’s about what you’re willing to let go of:

💜 Who you think you are
💜 Who you’ve had to be to survive
💜 The roles that no longer fit
💜 The performance you’ve called spiritual

That’s the moment the deeper work begins.
That’s when the energy healing, the intuitive guidance, the soul path work actually lands.

Spirited People, On the Other Hand…

They’re lit up. Raw. Grounded.
Not trying to be anything — just fully in themselves.

They bring energy. They bring presence. They bring truth.

And being around them? It’s infectious.
Your energy shifts just by being near it.
(That’s the kind of vibrational healing most spiritual folks only talk about.)

Good blog entry! well said! I’m reminded by the quote by Harold Thurman Whitman:
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

in other words, the world needs spirited people.
